Job Summary
Assess and analyze learning needs for nursing staff; plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities supporting nursing care and evidence-based practice. Collaborate with nurse managers to select new hires, mentors, and preceptors, ensuring appropriate onboarding, orientation, and evaluation of employees. Identify and address learning needs in assigned clinical areas to maintain competency, while evaluating the performance and practice of designated personnel. Facilitate staff involvement in nursing research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice efforts to drive practice changes. Participate in drafting nursing and organizational policies, engaging front-line staff in shared governance. Support data collection and analysis to integrate quality, safety, and productivity metrics into patient outcomes. Serve as a role model and resource for staff, fostering a culture of inquiry, innovation, and transformation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Master's degree in nursing education
- Certification in Nursing Education
- Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators
- Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area, or combination of staff nurse/leadership experience in the specialty area
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
