Job Summary
Complete the HCA Trainee program, including study assignments and practicing skills with residents as directed. Assist caregivers throughout the community by following individualized care plans for activities like grooming, bathing, feeding, and toileting. Perform assigned tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, and resident transfers using proper body mechanics. Maintain skin integrity through repositioning and incontinent care, while documenting all care provided in accordance with policies. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and supervisors, and promptly report missing personal belongings or unsafe conditions. Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays to meet position requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Current First Aid and CPR card
- Maintain current food handlers card
- Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position
- Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees
- Ability to creatively problem-solve in resident care
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
- Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
- Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Lifting 25 to 40 pounds constantly
