Job Summary
Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and mobility support while ensuring resident safety, dignity, and comfort. Engage in conversations and activities for companionship, perform light housekeeping, and monitor for hazards or emergencies. Accurately document care provided, changes in conditions, and incidents. Maintain open communication with residents, families, and team members. Participate in ongoing training, required meetings, and system tasks. Collaborate with nurses and staff to ensure a cohesive environment. Handle challenging situations or emergencies calmly. Work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in caregiving, preferably in senior care
- Completion of required caregiver training and certifications (if applicable)
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with a special interest in working with the senior population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and assist with the mobility of residents as needed
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Current First Aid and CPR card
- Current Food Handlers card
- Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
- Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds, lifting 25 to 40 pounds constantly
- Stand 6 out of 8 hours
