Job Summary
Nursing Manager to lead the veterinary emergency nursing team, build a culture of empowerment and collaboration, partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and hospital flow, guide team development through feedback and mentorship, ensure licensure and education programs are upheld, and drive 1:1 coaching and career growth for VEGgies. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day flow for the nursing team, overseeing scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding, addressing patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy, leveraging doctor feedback for skill development, championing VEG values, leading in-house training and development pathways, and maintaining medical excellence across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where the VEG practice is located
- A.S. or B.S. from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program strongly preferred
- 5+ years in a clinical veterinary nursing role, emergency-specific experience preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
