Job Summary
Lead specialist in the area of SACT, providing education and support to ensure the wider cancer team and Clinical Nurse Specialists deliver effective quality care and adhere to safety compliance. Develop practice in the assessment of health and wellbeing needs within SACT/cancer services, while creating strategies and policies for cancer services. Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information across cancer services and lead others in developing knowledge, ideas, and work practice within cancer care. Improve quality and safety compliance while fostering a working environment that actively improves health, safety, and security. This role offers a competitive salary, 35 days annual leave, and pension contributions for a full-time permanent position in Southampton. Spire Southampton Hospital delivers specialist procedures including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and HIFU for prostate cancer.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Diploma or Degree
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Qualified in the Safe handling and administration of SACT (accredited course) with evidence of regular competency assessment
- 2 years+ experience in managing in cancer services
- Competence across a range of cancer nursing, management and leadership skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and further education and development specific to SACT delivery and cancer care
- Recognised qualification and competency in the delivery of SACT
