Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Medical Renal unit to provide safe, compassionate inpatient care for adults and geriatrics with acute/chronic renal conditions. Responsibilities include patient assessments, implementing and documenting care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring responses, maintaining strict documentation in the EMR, and coordinating with nephrology and interdisciplinary teams. Role emphasizes renal-focused patient education (renal health, diet, fluid restrictions, medication adherence), infection control, rapid response support, and discharge planning. Rotating shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays in a hospital-based, high-acuity setting.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license/endorsement in Texas or applicable state
- Nursing licensure
- BLS/CPR as required by unit policy
