Job Summary
Teach eight courses annually, including didactic, clinical, and lab skills, while mentoring students outside class in teaching, citizenship, or scholarship. Promote collegiality within the college, serve on councils, and attend monthly faculty meetings and official university gatherings. Engage in quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects that enhance the nursing discipline and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed venues. This professional track faculty position requires approximately 70% teaching, 15% citizenship, and 15% scholarship duties. Applicants must relocate to Utah and hold a current Utah nursing license.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science (MS) in Nursing
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred, even if the applicant does not hold an MS degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in ICU nursing
- 1 year of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Utah license as either a Registered Nurse or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Current temple recommend
- Membership in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- Ability to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment
- Commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the Aims of a BYU Education
- Worthiness to hold a current temple recommend
Desired Qualifications
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree (if not holding MS)
- Experience teaching at the baccalaureate or graduate level
- Membership in good standing of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (preference given)
