Job Summary
Provide leadership for all nursing units and clinical support areas during assigned shift. Monitor and evaluate performance of agency and temporary staff, especially nursing staff. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Respond to staff requests for managerial assistance and notify MOC/AOC as necessary. Determine, coordinate, and monitor the flow of patients between units to maximize patient safety and experience and the use of the organization's resources. Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes. Respond to complaints/conflicts and manage through established channels. Make administrative decisions in conjunction with the MOC/AOC. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Work as PRN with 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) at UCHealth Yampa Valley Med Center in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Required Qualifications
- ADN, BSN required for hires/transfers after 1/1/15
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course OR PALS Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 3 months of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course OR Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses within 6 months of hire
- ACLS required for North Region within 3 months of hire
- 2 years of nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
