Job Summary
Cosign medication transcription, administer controlled substances, and document patient care with the NG abbreviation under direct supervision of a registered nurse. Perform patient assessments, place nasal gastric tubes, perform urinary catheterizations, apply sterile dressings, check blood sugar, and obtain specimens. Complete skill validation before transcribing orders and cease practice immediately upon failing two NCLEX attempts or exceeding the 120-day application deadline.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
- Eligible to sit for NCLEX
- Ability to pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of application to the board of nursing
- Ability to pass the second NCLEX examination if the first attempt fails
