Job Summary

Teach eight graduate-level nursing courses annually, including didactic, clinical, and lab skills, while mentoring students in projects and promoting collegiality through college council service. Dedicate 15% of time to scholarship by engaging in quality improvement projects, disseminating findings through peer-reviewed venues, and incorporating gospel methodology into evidence-based practice. Mentor graduate students outside of class and actively participate in professional organizations and university meetings. Requires a Utah APRN license, FNP board certification, MS in Nursing, and relocation to Utah.

Required Qualifications

  • MS in Nursing
  • Utah license as an APRN
  • board certification as an FNP
  • 2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment
  • current temple recommend
  • commitment to the Mission of Brigham Young University and the Aims of a BYU Education
  • ability to reflect on President Dallin H. Oaks' 1998 talk 'Why Do We Serve at BYU?' in a 2-page essay
  • ability to write a one-page mission alignment statement
  • adherence to the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards

Desired Qualifications

  • experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • closely related field experience
  • experience teaching nursing at the graduate level
  • DNP degree
  • membership in good standing of the affiliated church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
