Job Summary
Develop and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program while designing, implementing, and revising the curriculum. Teach at least 36 credits annually through didactic instruction, simulation labs, and skills training, utilizing assessment tools to monitor student learning. Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate the application of theory to practice, and grade clinical papers with timely feedback. Mentor students by developing success plans, remediating at-risk learners, and maintaining regular contact via in-person meetings, phone, and electronic communication. Participate in faculty meetings, program governance, and campus events while upholding FERPA guidelines and enforcing institutional policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- graduate degree in a related discipline
- accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care
- current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license
- enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university
- Certified Nurse Educator certification
- national certification in area of nursing specialty
