Job Summary
Develop, implement, and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program while designing, teaching, and revising the curriculum to address contemporary issues. Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab and teach at least 36 credits annually, utilizing assessment tools to evaluate student learning and support their academic progression. Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate the application of theory to practice, and grade clinical papers with timely feedback. Mentor faculty and students, develop student success plans for at-risk learners, and communicate regularly with Course Lead Faculty regarding student progress and clinical issues. Participate in faculty meetings, program governance, and campus events to maintain a positive presence and contribute to the college's growth strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- graduate degree in a related discipline
- accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care
- current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license
- enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate degree (DNP preferred)
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university
- Certified Nurse Educator certification
- national certification in area of nursing specialty
- Maintains professional competence/expertise in teaching through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects and professional writing
