Job Summary
Develop and teach nursing curriculum, including didactic classes, simulation labs, and clinical placements, while evaluating student learning and progress. Mentor students by advising them at least once per semester, creating success plans, and remediating at-risk learners. Oversee clinical adjuncts, grade clinical papers, and communicate weekly with faculty regarding student needs and clinical issues. Participate in faculty meetings, program reviews, and governance structures to advise on admission and progression policies. Maintain FERPA compliance and uphold core values of passion, excellence, and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree required, if the graduate degree is not in nursing must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
