Job Summary

Develop and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program while designing, implementing, and revising the curriculum. Teach at least 36 credits annually in classroom, skills labs, and simulation learning experiences, utilizing assessment tools to monitor student progress. Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate the application of theory to practice, and grade associated clinical papers with timely feedback. Mentor faculty, adjuncts, and students by serving as an advisor, developing student success plans, and remediating at-risk learners. Participate in faculty meetings, governance structures, and campus events to contribute to program evaluation and revision.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required, if the graduate degree is not in nursing must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
