Job Summary

Develop and evaluate the philosophy and objectives of the nursing education program while designing, implementing, and revising the curriculum to address contemporary issues. Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab and teach at least 36 credits annually, utilizing assessment tools to facilitate student learning and support their academic progression. Oversee instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts, facilitate the application of theory to practice, and maintain records on student performance including success plans and clinical evaluations. Mentor faculty and students, serve as an advisor to assigned student groups, and actively participate in faculty meetings and governance structures for program policy development.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required, if the graduate degree is not in nursing must have a Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhance compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
