Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership to the MedSurg/Telemetry department, overseeing staffing productivity, resource allocation, and budget management. Monitor patient safety, quality outcomes, and satisfaction metrics while developing performance improvement initiatives. Mentor nurse managers and frontline leaders using evidence-based practices, collaborate with physicians and executive leadership, and ensure regulatory compliance. Lead policy development, review, and implementation, and support staff orientation, education, and competency validation. Step into administrative responsibilities during the absence of executive nursing leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 3-5 + years of progressive leadership experience in acute care
- Strong background in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, staffing productivity (HPPD), and quality metrics
- Experience improving patient satisfaction (HCAHPS) and performance indicators
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead in high-pressure environments
