Job Summary
The Nursing Department Chairperson at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is responsible for providing administrative leadership for the evaluation and continuous improvement of the BSN and RN-to-BSN programs. Key duties include collaborating with nursing faculty and the Dean, overseeing departmental budgets, participating in faculty recruitment and retention, administering course evaluations, and preparing necessary accreditation reports. Candidates must hold a doctorate in nursing or related discipline with a current RN license in Arkansas, alongside significant educational and leadership experience in a nursing program.
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in nursing or a related discipline (PhD, DNSc, DSN, DNP, or EdD)
- An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license to practice in Arkansas or eligible for licensure in Arkansas
- Prior experience in leading a nursing program
- Demonstrated scholarship in a clinical or administrative specialization
- Substantial experience in undergraduate education and curriculum development
