Job Summary
Nursing Department Assistant III on the Geriatric Psych unit at Lutheran Hospital, Cleveland Clinic. The role involves assisting with patients' daily living activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, managing supplies/equipment, transporting patients, and supporting direct patient care tasks under RN supervision (including performing EKGs, blood glucose monitoring, specimen collection, dressing changes, and colostomy care). Responsibilities include documenting care, organizing assignments, ensuring safety during hourly rounds, maintaining unit orderliness, and preparing rooms for admissions. Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma/GED and BLS; preferred STNA certification and prior healthcare experience. The position is a day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm) and presented as an entry point into nursing careers with opportunities for growth within Cleveland Clinic Health System.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - National Organization certification
- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification
- Basic math skills and ability to read and write
