Job Summary
Nursing Department Assistant III on the General Surgery 5D unit supports patient daily living activities, assists with care tasks, and collaborates with health care teams to ensure timely delivery of care. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, monitoring blood glucose, collecting specimens, documenting vital signs, maintaining unit cleanliness and readiness for admissions, and ensuring safety during hourly rounds with bed alarms activated. The role serves as an entry point into nursing, involves coordinating patient care assignments, and requires lifting/patient handling along with flexible weekend/holiday coverage. Requires a High School Diploma/GED and BLS certification within the new hire period; STNA preferred. Daily shift is 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with rotating weekends/holidays.”,
