Job Summary
Nursing Co-Op (temporary, 32 hours/week) collaborates with the nursing team to provide quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Reporting to a Nurse Leader, the role supports activities of daily living,Vital signs collection, patient care plan collaboration, infection control, safety and confidentiality, with responsibilities including recording measurements (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, glucose, weight, intake/output), basic bed making, and adherence to departmental policies. Enrolled in a University’s Nursing or Allied Health co-op program; BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; prior patient care experience (CNA/Med. Asst./EMT/PCT or allied health) preferred. Minimum 0-1 years of related experience; vocational/technical nursing training strongly preferred. Inpatient hospital setting with emphasis on caring for neonatal to elderly populations; willingness to learn and follow care plans within safety and confidentiality policies.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a University’s Co-op program required
- AHA BLS Certification or equivalent required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Vocational or Technical training in Nursing is strongly preferred
- Patient care experience through CNA, Med. Asst., EMT, PCT certificate, allied health, pre-med or physician assistant students is preferred
- 0-1 years related work experience required
- Basic familiarity with computers and basic web navigation
