Job Summary
Guide nursing students through clinical rotations and classroom instruction by serving as a mentor, role model, and facilitator. Apply teaching methodologies to instruct students while utilizing Simulation and Innovation Labs to facilitate observable evidence of learning outcomes. Participate in continuous improvement plans for course assessments, syllabi, and curriculum materials. Assume complete responsibility for students in clinical facilities, clarifying expectations with students and facility staff. Assess student knowledge and skill levels to ensure patient safety, utilizing pre- and post-conferences to correlate theory with clinical experiences. Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance and maintain scholarly activities in alignment with university policies and state Board of Nursing regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Clinical RN - Must have a minimum of two (2) year's prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
- Have a minimum of one year experience in the field in which they teach
- Master's degree in nursing
- Professional nurse licensure required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed
- Working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process
- Compliance with state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Nursing
