Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for assigned individuals, including bathing, feeding, ambulating, and foley catheter care. Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and growth measurements while assisting with admission and discharge processes. Perform one-to-one observation duties as applicable and conduct venipuncture for labs after training. Maintain accurate care records, report patient status to the Registered Nurse, and complete non-clinical tasks such as patient transport and equipment cleaning. Requires current CPR certification and relevant clinical rotation or certification experience.
Required Qualifications
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training designation
- Successful completion of one semester/quarter of clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program
- Recent (within 2 years) and previous CHKD Nursing Care Partner experience
- Successful completion of CHKD's nursing student extern program
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (without successful completion of the NCLEX board exam)
- Active Nurse Assistant Certification
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification
- Patient Care Technician Certification
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to understand and follow instructions relating to basic patient care
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and empathetic team player who takes initiative
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management skills, able to shift priorities and able to work independently and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals
