Job Summary
Provide direct patient care including assisting with activities of daily living, bathing, feeding, and ambulation. Support admission and discharge processes while collecting and monitoring vital signs, intake/output, and growth measurements. Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report status to the Registered Nurse. Perform delegated tasks such as venipuncture for labs, patient transport, supply stocking, and equipment cleaning. Obtain or complete required CPR training within 45 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training designation
- Successful completion of one semester/quarter of clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program
- Recent (within 2 years) and previous CHKD Nursing Care Partner experience
- Successful completion of CHKD's nursing student extern program
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (without successful completion of the NCLEX board exam)
- Active Nurse Assistant Certification
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification
- Patient Care Technician Certification
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to understand and follow instructions relating to basic patient care
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and empathetic team player who takes initiative
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management skills, able to shift priorities and able to work independently and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals
