Job Summary
Nursing Assistant Unit Clerk – Oncology at Springfield Regional Medical Center: Provides direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated health care professional in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policies. Functions include bedside care such as vital signs, personal care, mobility, and unit-based duties; serves as liaison between patient and nurse; delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff; accurate documentation of patient care; and adherence to professional standards. Preferred education includes High School/GED, with BLS/CPR and Nursing Student clinical rotation in place. Represents Mercy Health across Oncology Services with emphasis on teamwork, compliance, and compassionate care.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED preferred
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association preferred
- Nursing Student with First Clinical Rotation complete OR state testing complete (required)
- Successful Completion of PCT Training Program within 6 months of start date
- Experience in acute care and/or long-term care facilities preferred
- Ability to clearly communicate with healthcare team and patients
- Knowledge of patient safety standards (falls, skin breakdown, infection control) and documentation requirements
Desired Qualifications
- High School/GED preferred

- Successful Completion of PCT Training Program within 6 months of start date
