Job Summary

Manage patient care activities by rooming patients, capturing vitals, and updating medication lists while assisting providers with nursing home correspondence and EMR updates. Conduct hearing and vision screenings, perform waived lab tests, and maintain accurate charting and specimen containers for drug screens. Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sterilize instruments, and manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment. Coordinate coverage during provider absences, schedule appointments, and assist front desk operations. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, quality improvement protocols, and clinic policies.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • CCMA
  • CMA
  • CPR Certification
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with others both in person and over the phone
  • Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and correct errors
  • Exhibit understanding and comply with healthcare regulatory and compliance policy
  • Exhibit knowledge and understanding of clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
  • High integrity, including maintaining confidential information
  • Must be highly organized, timely and thorough
  • Must be able to exercise good judgement and positively influence others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, coworkers, patients and management team
  • Ability to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Strong computer skills; including but not limited to spreadsheets, word documents, internet, e-fax, email and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Complete knowledge of all laboratory tests
  • Ability to perform accurately the authorized waived tests, i.e. glucometer, hemacue, dip stick UA, UCG, rapid strep, influenza and hemoccult readings, etc.
