Job Summary
Assist patients with changing, toileting, and comfort measures prior to surgery, transport them safely to and from pre-op areas, and record vital signs while reporting abnormal findings. Maintain cleanliness in clinical areas, assist with turnover of operating and procedure rooms, replenish supplies, and transport specimens or paperwork. Support patients during recovery by assisting with positioning, offering reassurance, and helping them dress for discharge. Document patient care activities accurately, practice proper hand hygiene, clean patient areas between cases, and escort patients throughout the facility while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient conditions, assist with orientation of new teammates, and ensure infection control compliance across preoperative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia phases.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare or patient care setting
- Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and safety standards
- Demonstrated ability to assist with personal hygiene and mobility
- Demonstrated ability to accurately obtain and record vital signs
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff
Desired Qualifications
- New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
