Job Summary
Assist in the safe treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures, with attention to the age of patients served on the Neuro Surgical Stepdown unit. Maintain current New York State CNA certification or equivalent experience, and demonstrate knowledge of safety and infection control practices. Utilize computer systems and/or prior clerical experience for unit documentation. Provide BLS or CPR/AED training completed through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Work as part of a team focused on evidence-based practice and exceptional quality of care at a Level I Trauma Center serving over 100,000 patients annually.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Nursing Assistant program, BOCES or Military Hospital Corps School or equivalent with current New York State CNA certification
- Completion of a Nursing fundamentals course or equivalent within a RN program
- Minimum of 1 years' experience working as a Nursing Assistant
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of safety and infection control practices
- Knowledge of computer systems and/or prior clerical experience
- BLS or CPR/AED training
- CPR/AED training from American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
- CPR/AED training from American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
