Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a RN, assists in the delivery of patient care, performing personal care (feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming), moving and transporting patients, changing linens, and collecting/documenting vital signs and observations. Provides assistance with ambulation, transfer, positioning, ROM, and fall-prevention activities; may transport medications within the site; supports admission, transfer, discharge, and post-mortem care as needed. Requires CNA certification/training and BLS, with 12-hour day/night shifts in the Medical Surgical Unit; 0.90 FTE (72 hours per 2-week pay period); weekend rotation every 3rd.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age OR 17 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR previous direct patient care experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire
