Job Summary
Nursing Assistant role at Lifeblood’s Donor Centre in Cannington, WA, performing donor eligibility screening, welcoming donors, conducting routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests, assisting with setup and collection of whole blood, plasma, and platelets, monitoring post-donation donors, and helping the team achieve collection targets. Full training is provided; no previous blood collection experience required. The role emphasizes delivering an exceptional donor experience, strong customer-facing skills, and collaboration within a rotating roster across Monday to Friday with occasional weekends. The position involves manual handling (lifting up to 22.7 kg) and requires adaptability to a rotating schedule and a fast-paced donor-centre environment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working with needles and blood/biological materials (training provided)
- Flexibility to work rotating roster Monday to Friday including occasional weekends
- Ability to lift 9–22.7 kg and stand/walk/bend/reach during shifts
