Job Summary
Perform direct and indirect patient care under RN or LPN supervision, including oral care, bathing, toileting, bed linen changes, and meal assistance. Monitor patients for safety, recognize and report changes in condition, and update electronic medical records with vital signs and intake/output data. Assist with patient mobility, ambulation, and turning while using lift equipment per policy. Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and glucose measurements, and transport patients on and off the unit. Respond to emergency situations and perform shifts reports with oncoming staff. Maintain infection prevention and fall prevention protocols while ensuring a decluttered care environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire date
- Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, repetitive motion
- Frequent grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
- Constant fit testing
