Job Summary
Nursing Assistant role supporting RNs in general surgical/patient care unit. Responsibilities include assisting with daily patient care (bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, ambulation), taking and documenting vital signs and measurements (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, I&O, daily weights), documenting in the EMR, participating in admissions/transfers/discharges, handling specimen collection (urine, stool, sputum) and point-of-care testing, ensuring patient call lights are answered, stocking and maintaining nursing area, and assisting with transfers and care of patients with appropriate lifting and safety techniques. Requires BLS certification within 45 days, Nurse Aide on state registry in good standing, and GED/HSED/HS diploma. The role demands strong communication, basic computer skills, and adherence to infection prevention and safety procedures; physical capability to perform required lifting and transfers. Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within 45 days
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices
- Education: GED or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate
- Experience Required: None
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., to push/pull, and perform transfers with assistance
- Diverse responsibilities across patient care including nutrition, skin integrity, documentation, and specimen collection
