Nursing Assistant - Float Pool Nights

Job Summary

Provide direct care to patients in the Med Surg float pool, including personal hygiene, nutritional assistance, comfort care, and safe patient transfers. Monitor vital signs, maintain accurate recordkeeping, and promptly report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse. Ensure a safe, clean environment while adhering to Joint Commission standards under direct supervision. This permanent night rotation covers 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM every other weekend, totaling 32 hours weekly. Candidates must meet specific training or experience requirements and hold BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 months of patient care experience
  • Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
  • Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
  • Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
  • BLS certified or ability to become certified within 1 month from hire date
  • Must be able to work 32 hours/week
  • Must be able to work Every Other Weekend
  • Must be able to work 12 Hour Night Shifts 7:00PM - 7:30AM
  • Must be able to provide direct care to patients and serve the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director
  • Must work within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies
  • Must provide personal hygiene care, assist with nutritional needs
  • Must provide comfort care and other assistance
  • Must appropriately and safely transfer patients
  • Must take vital signs and complete recordkeeping
  • Must recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Must maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
