Job Summary
Nursing Assistant in the Coronary Care Unit provides supportive care under the direction of an RN, focusing on patient-centered activities, basic care, and collaboration with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and comfort measures; potential involvement in advanced skills (phlebotomy, EKG, Foley catheter removal) as unit needs require; handling data entry, unit supplies, and medications; and maintaining professional communication, safety, HIPAA compliance, and patient/family engagement. The role emphasizes compassionate service, speed and accuracy in a fast-paced cardiac ICU environment, and contributing to care plans and safety interventions. Requires high school diploma or GED.
