Job Summary
Nursing Assistant - Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, part-time night shift in an 18-bed cardiac ICU. Supports the Registered Nurse by assisting with basic patient care functions (ADL, ambulation, vital signs) and may perform advanced skills as unit needs require (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG, Foley catheter care). Duties include data retrieval, supply/patient medication transport, communicating with the RN and healthcare team, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to a patient-centered care plan. Strong communication, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment are essential. Certifications/skills may include basic treatment support and adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and patient privacy standards. The role emphasizes compassionate, respectful care and collaboration with nurses, physicians, and families to support the treatment plan and patient experience.
