Job Summary
Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision in a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, psychosocial support, transferring and repositioning residents using appropriate techniques, assisting with mobility and ROM exercises, helping with meals and dining, participating in wellness and recreational activities, documenting resident interactions, communicating changes to the charge nurse, and adhering to infection prevention and PPE policies. Requires CNA certification and ongoing competency maintenance; often involves driving responsibilities per policy and potential benefits eligibility. The role supports a not-for-profit facility dedicated to housing and services for seniors in Lakota/Grand Forks, ND, with a PRN schedule and varying shifts and hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred but not required
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
- Maintains annual continuing education credits (12 hours)
- Satisfactory annual department competency testing
