Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision in a long-term care setting. Duties include assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, monitoring vital signs, transferring and repositioning residents, range of motion and passive exercises, dining assistance, basic health care tasks, documentation of resident interactions, infection control, PPE use, and contributing to wellness and recreational programs. Requires CNA certification and ongoing competency/education, with facility-provided CNA training as needed. PRN/varied scheduling with potential for driving responsibilities where applicable in the facility.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
- Maintains all department specific required certifications.
- Possibly registered with Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry where applicable (state dependent).
- Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy if applicable.
