Job Summary
Nursing Assistant (NA) providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a long-term care setting under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs collection, range of motion and passive exercises, meal support and dining experience, transferral and positioning, housekeeping, laundry, and participation in wellness/recreational programs. Maintains infection prevention practices, uses PPE, documents resident interactions and communicates care concerns to the charge nurse. Requires CNA certification and ongoing competency/continuing education; high school diploma or GED preferred; dependent on state, may require driver licensing and background checks. Provides care in a not-for-profit senior housing and service facility in Lakota, ND with PRN schedule and varied shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually)
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- May be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver depending on facility needs and must meet driving policy requirements
- Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions per policy (if applicable)
