Job Summary
Performs patient care under the direction of a professional nurse, including vital signs, assisting with diagnostic procedures and treatments, wound care, injections, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Provides one-on-one support for patients requiring close observation, prepares and forwards specimens, documents in medical records, and communicates patient status to licensed staff. Collaborates with forensic team as it relates to inmate care, adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies, and participates in mandatory trainings and quality-improvement initiatives. Requires completion of an approved nursing assistant or medical assistant program and current Tennessee nurse aide certification within 60 days; CPR and BLS are required at hire.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved nursing assistant or medical assistant program
- Current Nurse Aide Certification in the State of Tennessee is within 60 Days
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
