Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Perform age-appropriate physical and psychological care per care plans, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and psychosocial support. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, range of motion exercises, and vital sign collection. Prepare meals, manage dining experiences, and collect non-invasive body fluid specimens. Document resident interactions, behaviors, and dietary needs while communicating changes to the charge nurse. Maintain clean living areas and support wellness and recreational programs. Work 8-hour night shifts with a 40-hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable, for applicable states)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (if role classifies as a Sanford Category II Driver)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
