Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs recording, and psychosocial support under charge nurse supervision. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, range of motion exercises, meal preparation, and medication administration as delegated. Document care outcomes, communicate changing conditions to the charge nurse, and support wellness and recreational programs. Depending on location, may provide housekeeping, laundry, specimen collection, or care for residents with dementia. Follow infection prevention policies and PPE protocols. Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays within a 24-hour care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable)
- Valid driver's license (when applicable)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living preferred
