Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs monitoring, and psychosocial support to assigned residents under charge nurse supervision. Assist with transfers, repositioning, walking, range of motion exercises, food preparation, and medication administration as delegated. Document care outcomes, communicate changes to the charge nurse, and support wellness and recreational programs. Depending on location, may aid nursing staff with procedures, collect specimens, provide housekeeping, or care for residents with dementia. Work rotating shifts every other weekend and holidays, with possible committee attendance and student direction. Maintain CNA certification, annual competency testing, and 12 hours of continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (when applicable)
- Motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license (when applicable)
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living preferred
