Job Summary
Assist in the safe treatment and care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures, adapting to the age of patients served on the unit. Maintain current New York State CNA certification or equivalent fundamentals course completion, ensuring BLS or CPR/AED training from the American Heart Association is current. Apply knowledge of safety and infection control practices while utilizing computer systems for clerical tasks. Work as a Nursing Assistant at Good Samaritan University Hospital, a 537-bed teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center, with a posted salary range of $25.62 to $30.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Nursing Assistant program, BOCES or Military Hospital Corps School or equivalent with current New York State CNA certification
- completion of a Nursing fundamentals course or equivalent within a RN program
- minimum of 1 years' experience working as a Nursing Assistant
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of safety and infection control practices
- Knowledge of computer systems and/or prior clerical experience
- BLS or CPR/AED training
- BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association
