Job Summary
Nursing Assistant Cardiac assists the RN in delivering patient care on a 12-hour night shift in the CV PCU unit, including personal care (feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming), mobility and transfers, linen changes, and ambulation; collects and documents vital signs, supports fall prevention, and helps with admission/transfer/discharge and post-mortem care; aids with specimen collection and documentation per policy, and ensures a safe environment while handling hazardous waste and equipment per procedures. Requires CNA-related training or clinical rotations and a current BLS certification; eligible for 0.9 FTE (72 hours per two-week period) with night shifts and every-other weekend rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age OR 17 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR previous direct patient care experience
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association OR Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross OR Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire
