Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides personal care and related health care services to patients within hospital policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include assisting with personal care, basic nursing tasks, rehabilitation, ensuring a safe environment, recognizing and reporting patient observations, maintaining quality assurance and infection control, and accurately documenting patient data. The position requires a current Rhode Island nursing assistant license, BLS certification, and preferably, at least one year of experience as a nursing assistant. Proficiency in basic computer skills and an understanding of the care process throughout the patient lifespan are also necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant
- Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- One-year experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform basic computer skills
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process
Additional Requirements
- Must work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
- May be required to lift/turn patients and equipment
