Job Summary
Nursing Assistant II on the Surgical-Telemetry/Ortho unit (3G/H) at Baptist Health Lexington performs direct patient care under RN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, glucose monitoring, EKGs, venipuncture, and support for postpartum mothers and newborns. Responsibilities include aiding admissions/discharges, restocking supplies, and basic clerical duties while maintaining patient safety, dignity, and privacy in a 37-bed telemetry/medical surgical setting focused on orthopedic, neuro, spine, stroke, and cardiac telemetry care. Requires strong communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and clinical observation skills. Must have High School Diploma or GED and Kentucky Nurse Aide certification or complete first year of nursing school with clinical validation; BLS within 30 days. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required OR completion of first year of nursing school with successful clinical validation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
