Job Summary
Provide patient-centered care under RN direction by assisting with daily living activities, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort measures. Perform advanced skills including phlebotomy, dressing changes, and Foley catheter removal as needed. Monitor vital signs, transport supplies and medications, and participate in hourly patient rounding. Document care in the EMR, answer call lights, and escalate concerns to the charge nurse. Maintain infection control protocols, equipment, and a safe environment while collaborating with the healthcare team. Work night shifts in a fast-paced setting requiring multi-tasking and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Rising Senior in Good Standing
- High School Diploma
- GED
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
- BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
- Ability to follow detailed directions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Wellstar minimum age of hire is 16
