Job Summary
Nursing Assistant responsible for assisting with general patient care on the 4 East Unit (Nighting shift, every third weekend/holiday rotation). Supports 1:1 sitter coverage for medically complex and behavioral health patients, transports supplies and patients, assists with activities of daily living, and collaborates with the health care team under RN direction. Requires High School Diploma; current American Heart Association BLS; inpatient pediatric-focused experience preferred. Demonstrates proficiency with hospital information systems, documentation of vital signs and patient care activities, and participation in quality improvement and education programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year patient care experience preferred
- Able to read and write accurately
- Able to understand laboratory orders, computer information, and some medical terminology
- Able to obtain specimens, including blood specimens, from a pediatric patient population
