Job Summary

Record and deliver organized rounds, evaluate incoming patients to prioritize based on assessment, and partner with the care team regarding treatment plans and client communication. Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients while assisting the DVM with assessments, treatments, and procedures. Monitor nursing care for hospitalized patients, induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation, and perform in-house laboratory testing. Prioritize veterinary experience with previous nursing or critical care exposure, proficiency in drug calculations, and flexibility for evening shifts and additional hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior veterinary experience
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passing of a drug screen
  • Background check

Desired Qualifications

  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license
  • Previous nursing or critical care experience
