Nursing Administration Transport-Courier PD Variable

Bring patients to and from the nursing unit to the unit or ancillary departments where procedures are performed. Pick up requisitions, requests, and doctor's orders from patient care units and deliver them to designated non-nursing departments. Retrieve non-stat medications from pharmacy and test results from the clinical laboratory file sorter, then distribute these items to the designated nursing units' contact person. Make hourly runs to areas listed on the runner schedule. All transporters and runners reporting to nursing administration are cross-trained for both duties. A minimum of six months acute hospital experience is preferred, along with a current CPR card (AHA).
