Job Summary
Perform general nursery swine husbandry duties to ensure animal comfort, well-being, and productivity. Responsibilities include feeding and watering animals, cleaning and disinfecting pens, examining animals for illness or injury, administering vaccinations per health protocol, treating injuries per AMVC policy, adjusting building temperatures for animal health, tagging animals for identification, moving animals through breeding, gestation, and farrowing phases with appropriate PPE, attending meetings and trainings, and monitoring ventilation for animal comfort. Work every other weekend; cannot live with anyone else who works with pigs. Skills: detail-oriented, organized, reliable, responsible; familiarity with animal health protocols, ventilation and temperature control, and basic veterinary care practices.
